My callouses and rough spots on my feet are so much better. The Ped Egg did not hurt my feet. I was going to buy a Ped Egg a while ago but I held off because some of the reviews said how harsh it was and too rough on their skin. I am glad to be able to make my feet look better at home instead of paying much more to get them done at a salon. You can press harder or softer depending on how it feels to you and how much skin you need to get off. I finally decided to get it anyway and I am glad I did. I have only used it once so far and I can really tell a difference.
I bought it because I like the idea of the Pedi-Egg, but I saw that it just didn't seem to be made well. Microplane makes a version of this product that is much better (sharper, higher quality construction, safer). Yeah, the Microplane one costs more, but this is a case where you get what you pay for. I found the blades got dull quickly, and after a while the unit came apart in my hand during use. I just wasn't that impressed.
Overall GREAT product. I had shaving all over the place the first time I used it. I would suggest this to anyone with dry cracked heels. Works Great. The only con is that the shavings don't all get trapped in the egg as described in the ad.
Unfortunately, this now means I was not only duped, but have to resort to expensive pedicures at a salon, just to have healthy smooth feet. I ended up having to trim off the shredded skin with a cuticle scissors. So, it hurt.but didn't help my rough, calloused feet. THIS PRODUCT IS A RIPOFF, and anyone who says it works obviously doesn't have very rough feet to begin with. On the pads of my big toes, I have very rough skin. As with most As-Seen-On-TV products, I was skeptical at first, but figured I'd give the Ped Egg a try.
Even though the blades aren't sharp enough to be effective, they are sharp enough to cause pain. I should've just left it alone to begin with. I should've saved my money. After using the Ped Egg, it shredded the skin but didn't remove it. The WORST ten dollars I've ever spent. The Ped Egg didn't help my feet at all.
In fact, it actually made my condition WORSE.
And, the skin flakes do fall out of it very easily, so you have to be careful not to turn it upside down. This just didn't work for me. A foot file a few times a week and some good footcream at bedtime work much better. Not a great product at all. It does file off some dead skin, but not enough to smooth my feet. It can damage your skin, even though it says it can't.
